NAMKHA is a Tibetan word that means blue, the blue sky, space, spaciousness, and the nature of emptiness. It’s Rita’s spiritual name. Now it’s also a travel company.

NAMKHA trips focus on spirituality and nature connection. We see traveling as a path to Self knowledge & inner development.

Slow travel

Letting go of the habit of speeding through experiences can be challenging. On this trip, we encourage embracing a slower pace together. Much like the joy of showing up each day to our meditation cushion, staying a bit longer in one place rather than moving on to a new destination daily can be surprisingly enriching and fulfilling. This approach allows us to deepen our connection with our surroundings and savor the journey fully. Hopefully we can carry some of this practice with us as we go home.

A spiritual journey

We explore Dharamshala deeply. Our main base is McLeod Ganj – the home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Rita has been studying Tibetan Buddhism since 1996, and spent several periods of her life in McLeod Ganj. She is thrilled to share it with you!

This trip invites an inward journey, supported by the deep presence of Tibetan Buddhism in Dharamshala.

At the end of our journey we join the celebration of HH Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and make long life pujas!

Free time

This trip offer a few good moments of free time. You can spend this time in McLeod Ganj however you wish to. Rita can give you suggestions and offer guidance of where to go and what to do. Some ideas: meditate in the main temple, do the kora, find healing with Tibetan acupressure massages, go visit a local Tibetan astrologer, give Tibetan medicine a try, go for a solo walk in the mountains, hang out at a café and meet some of the locals, relax, indulge in delicious Tibetan food or western pastry delights, reflect & journal, visit the incredible bookshops, read...

More about the trip

At NAMKHA, we believe that traveling is more than seeing places and exploring externally. We see it as a way of getting to know ourselves deeper, relating to others and the world, and expanding our awareness of who we are.

During this trip we will have moments for exercises - group sharing, nature therapy, short meditations, journaling, and self reflection. Every activity is optional and encouraged.

We will create group agreements, so that everyone feels comfortable.

We will be setting traveling intentions at the start of the trip, and there will be an inner process of transformation happening as we externally explore Dharamshala. There will be a flow between group awareness and individual presence. We keep individual integrity, and we also become group, weaving ourselves with the place.

When you join the trip you receive a 20% discount code for 2 Astrology and / or Life Mentoring sessions with Rita, if you wish to book them. We can explore what this particular moment in your life calls for, and give context to the importance of this trip as part of your inner process. We can do this before or after the trip.

When you register, you receive detailed information about what to pack for this trip + cultural suggestions to start traveling before you set off, and suggested journaling prompts to create intentionality for the trip.

This trip will have a WhatsApp group. We can use it for questions before the trip. We use it during the trip to stay in touch and make arrangements. After the trip we can use it to share travel memories and keep our connection.

I traveled with Rita to Tibet and what stood out was her deep knowledge and respect for the culture and how a traveler can positively impact the most vulnerable local communities. Rita's awareness and values are of such a high level that the traveling experience is so inspiring and I already signed up for her next trip!
